About Us

The Physics Education Research (PER) group at Ithaca College focuses on investigating how physics is taught and learned. We encompass this research into various aspects of physics education, including curriculum design, instructional strategies, student learning, and the development of effective teaching methods and materials. The primary goal of our group is to improve the teaching and learning of physics by applying research-based insights and evidence-based practices.

We then use this research to inform the design of curriculum materials, teaching strategies, and assessment tools that are all freely available.
